A selection of popular and uplifting operatic music
Two “pop-up” concerts were held as an expression of appreciation to the people of the Witzenberg-region. The area was recognized as one of the first hotspots in the Western Cape province. They were recognized for their efforts in curbing the spread of Covid-19 during the first outbreak, and as ‘frontline’ workers in the agricultural sector – for their efforts in sustaining food production throughout lockdown. The 35 minute programme was a selection of popular and uplifting operatic music, with individual introductions featuring members of Cape Town Opera’s award-winning chorus, sought after by opera houses around the world. Featuring: Cape Town Opera Chorus, under the direction of chorus master Marvin Kernelle.
